You can fund it with Kickstarter - see how I am getting on!

As my regular readers will know, I have set out on the road to become a successful writer. This has meant me leaving my paid job to set up on my own. Along with the features of other great products, this blog keeps you updated with all the things that I am doing as part of my startup business plans.

One area that I have started to move into is looking at how my projects are funded. I have set up a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to fund the marketing of a novel that I am intending to write. The campaign has seen quite a bit of interest and I have found it to be a really exciting way to reach out to people from all over the world and get some funding.

If you are thinking of starting your own Kickstarter campaign as a startup business owner then I can recommend it. The process is really simple to follow and it walks you through what you need to do step by step. They are the experts in crowdfunding so you know that when you work with them you have a great chance of raising the money you need. Here's a quick guide to the process-

  • Set up an account with Kickstarter
  • Decide on your project
  • Set the amount of funding you need
  • Set up the incentives that will reward people for pledging
  • Promote your campaign
  • Answer any questions that people ask
  • Wait for the money to roll in
My project can be found here-

It is to fund me to write a novel that I hope to have published and from there - who knows?

You can pledge and give one of the characters in the novel a name and describe some characteristics. It is a great opportunity to be part of the creative process and help me to get my book off the ground.

Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions or need any information. I'll be glad to help!
